What does Zycus do for supplier discovery today?
Zycus is a source-to-pay suite. Zycus announced in January 2026 that Gartner had named it a Leader in the 2026 Magic Quadrant for Source-to-Pay Suites. Its supplier surfaces are the Zycus Supplier Network and iSupplier, with a Merlin agent layer on top. Zycus announced the Merlin Agentic AI Platform on 28 January 2025 for launch on 11 February 2025, and as of 3 September 2026 the platform page named Merlin Intake, the Merlin Autonomous Negotiation Agent and Merlin Agentic Sourcing. Zycus’s Strategic Sourcing Suite page says Merlin Agentic Sourcing designs events from historical baselines, “identifies both incumbent and alternative suppliers from enriched data,” and executes the event with AI-assisted bid evaluation. A Merlin Supplier Discovery BOT is marketed on a Zycus video page with AI-driven search, supplier insights and customizable criteria. A September 2025 announcement also records Zycus as a Customers’ Choice in the 2025 Gartner Peer Insights Voice of the Customer for Source-to-Pay Suites.

Where does Zycus supplier discovery stop?
On the public sources we could read, it stops at the suppliers you already hold. Zycus’s press release of 28 October 2015 launched the Zycus Supplier Network as a platform for collaboration between Zycus customers and “their approved suppliers,” with “a robust pre-qualification and approval engine for supplier on-boarding.” Zycus’s own network page describes a supplier-side portal: suppliers receive POs, send invoices, respond to RFx events and update master data. As of 3 September 2026 we found no published supplier count for the network, and no named supplier database, coverage figure or data source on either the Merlin Supplier Discovery BOT page or the Strategic Sourcing Suite page. Zycus’s technology partners page named Dun & Bradstreet, EcoVadis, Bureau van Dijk and Moody’s Analytics on the same date; in our assessment each of them enriches a supplier record you already hold rather than finding a new one. In the vendor-hosted reprint we read of Gartner’s Hype Cycle for Procurement and Sourcing Solutions, 2025, Zycus is a Sample Vendor in seven profiles and we found it in none of them under Supplier Discovery.

How does Speya connect to Zycus?
Through the Speya API, live, with access reviewed per integration and requested at speya.ai/mcp. Integrations are built on request through that open API where they make technical and commercial sense. It returns structured supplier records a system can write into its own tables. On the Zycus side, integration runs through iConsole, described by Zycus as “the single point of communication between Zycus products and any third party application.” Zycus states that its REST APIs use JSON and need an Application Id from iConsole. A Zycus REST API guide describes a SIM vendors endpoint that creates vendor records, but it reaches us as a re-hosted PDF and we found no public Zycus developer portal as of 3 September 2026, so confirm the path with Zycus before relying on it. A workflow: describe the category in Speya, review the shortlist and its evidence, then load the chosen suppliers into iSupplier or invite them into an iSource event. Shortlists also export as spreadsheets. An MCP server is coming so your own agent can call Speya directly. Speya has no certified or vendor-listed connector and no AppXtend listing.

Does Speya replace Zycus?
No. Speya is not a source-to-pay suite. It does not run sourcing events, contracts, purchase orders or invoices. It sits beside Zycus as the discovery, vetting and monitoring layer, and hands a tiered shortlist with sources to Zycus through the Speya API or a structured export. Zycus keeps the sourcing event, the contract and the transaction.
Does Speya find suppliers that are not in the Zycus Supplier Network?
Yes. Zycus’s 2015 launch release scopes the Zycus Supplier Network to a buyer’s “approved suppliers,” gated by a pre-qualification and approval engine, so a supplier that has not been onboarded is not in it. Speya runs a live search across millions of supplier profiles drawn from 250+ data sources, including official registries, trade and customs data and certifications, with no requirement that a supplier registered anywhere first.
How does a Speya shortlist reach Zycus?
Two routes. The Speya API returns structured supplier records that your team can load into Zycus through iConsole, which Zycus describes as “the single point of communication between Zycus products and any third party application.” Zycus states that its REST APIs use JSON and need an Application Id from iConsole. Or export the shortlist as a spreadsheet for a single event. API access is reviewed per integration and requested at speya.ai/mcp.
Is Speya independent of Zycus?
Yes. Speya is built and operated by Findmyfactory AB in Stockholm and is not owned by, capitalized by or bundled into any procurement suite or ERP vendor. Suppliers do not pay to be listed or ranked. Independence is worth checking in this category: Coupa announced its acquisition of Scoutbee on 6 October 2025, Supplier.io announced on 2 April 2026 that it had acquired TealBook, and the 6 December 2021 announcement of the Interos Series C names Coupa Ventures among the investors.
