Workday Strategic Sourcing
Independent supplier intelligence for Workday Strategic Sourcing
Speya is an independent supplier intelligence layer for teams running Workday Strategic Sourcing. Workday’s user guide scopes the Strategic Sourcing Supplier Directory to the suppliers already approved in your Workday tenant. Speya searches millions of supplier profiles from 250+ data sources, vets them with AI agents against certifications, financial health, ESG and sanctions, and returns a shortlist your team can load into Workday through its API.

What does Workday Strategic Sourcing do for supplier discovery today?
It searches the suppliers you already have. Workday Strategic Sourcing has a Supplier Directory with search and filter, and Workday’s user guide states that, where the Supplier Connector is set up, “all approved suppliers in Workday are part of your Strategic Sourcing Supplier Directory unless the connector was configured with supplier group or category filters.” Filtering runs over that directory’s own fields. Around it sits the workflow Workday’s product page describes: sourcing project intake, pipeline management, RFx analysis, dynamic negotiations, supplier onboarding, performance and risk, reporting and savings tracking, plus AI-powered contract lifecycle management. The product began as Scout RFP. TechCrunch reported on 4 November 2019 that Workday had agreed to acquire Scout RFP for $540M; Workday’s newsroom said the deal closed on 9 December 2019; and Workday’s blog later announced that “Scout RFP is now Workday Strategic Sourcing.”
Where it stops
Where does Workday Strategic Sourcing supplier discovery stop?
At the edge of your tenant. On Workday’s own scoping, the Supplier Directory holds suppliers already approved in Workday, so a supplier you have never onboarded is not in it. We searched both current datasheets, dated 26 February 2026 and 12 January 2026, and as of 3 September 2026 we found no occurrence of “discover”, “supplier search”, “database” or “market intelligence”, and no named external supplier data provider. The Supplier Management datasheet lists core capabilities as onboarding and approvals, supplier experience, integrated risk management, supplier profiles, reporting, and performance and KPIs. Workday’s admin guide listed three third-party integrations for Strategic Sourcing as of 3 September 2026: OneTrust for risk screening, Office 365 for document editing and Relish Data Assure for supplier data validation. In our assessment that is validation and screening rather than discovery. Discovery is a separate job from the workflow the suite runs.
What Speya adds
What does Speya add alongside Workday Strategic Sourcing?
Minutes
From need to AI-vetted shortlist
Millions
Supplier profiles, searched live
250+
Data sources, cross-referenced
Speya is the discovery and vetting layer beside Workday, not a replacement for it. A team describes a sourcing need in plain language. Speya’s AI agents search millions of supplier profiles built from 250+ data sources, including official registries, trade and customs data, financial filings, certifications and the open web, then vet candidates against certifications, financial health, ESG and sanctions and return a tiered, defensible shortlist in minutes with sources beside every name. Discover handles plain-language search by capability, location and standard. Research runs AI-agent vetting with cited evidence. RFx sends RFIs and keeps an audit trail. Enrich refreshes supplier records you already hold. Monitor keeps watching after the award. Speya Auto runs a whole case on its own. Every search is live, not a lookup against a static list, and Speya does not sell listings or rankings to suppliers. Workday stays the system of record.
How it connects
How does Speya connect to Workday Strategic Sourcing?
Through the Speya API, which is live today. Access is reviewed per integration and requested at speya.ai/mcp, and integrations are built on request through that open API where they make technical and commercial sense. The API returns structured supplier records a system can write into its own tables, so a team can write a shortlist into its supplier master or a sourcing event. The three calls customers make most often: enrich a supplier you already hold, find the named contact, and pull ESG evidence with sources. An MCP server is coming, so any MCP client, including Copilot, ChatGPT, Claude or an in-house agent, will be able to call Speya as a tool. On the Workday side, Workday’s API documentation publishes Suppliers v1.1, where POST /supplier_companies creates a supplier company; Workday documents EIB as a no-code CSV or XML load; and Workday Extend can host an app inside the Workday UI. Shortlists also export as spreadsheets. Speya has no certified or vendor-listed connector, and we found no Speya listing among the 902 apps in the Workday Marketplace public sitemap as of 3 September 2026.

Questions
Common questions.
Does Speya replace Workday Strategic Sourcing?
No. Speya is not a source-to-pay suite and does not run sourcing events, contracts, purchase orders or invoices. Workday Strategic Sourcing stays the system of record and keeps the workflow: intake, RFx, negotiations, awards and contracts. Speya sits in front of it. It discovers and vets candidates, then hands the shortlist and its supporting evidence over through the Speya API, where your team builds that integration, or as a structured export.
Does Workday Strategic Sourcing already do supplier discovery?
Not outside your tenant. Workday’s user guide scopes the Strategic Sourcing Supplier Directory to “all approved suppliers in Workday,” and as of 3 September 2026 we found no mention of discovery, supplier search or an external supplier database in either 2026 datasheet. In the vendor-hosted reprint we read of Gartner’s Hype Cycle for Procurement and Sourcing Solutions, 2025, Workday is named once, as a Sample Vendor under External Workforce Procurement, and not under Supplier Discovery.
Is Scout RFP the same as Scoutbee?
No, and the two are easily confused. Scout RFP is the company TechCrunch reported Workday had agreed to acquire for $540M on 4 November 2019; Workday’s newsroom said the deal closed on 9 December 2019, and the product became Workday Strategic Sourcing. Scoutbee is a different, German company, and Coupa announced its acquisition of Scoutbee on 6 October 2025. Workday’s Contingent Sourcing Agent is a third name that gets confused: Workday’s own announcement describes it as accelerating temporary hiring “by identifying talent open to contingent roles.”
Who owns Speya, and has Workday backed a supplier data vendor?
Speya is built and operated by Findmyfactory AB in Stockholm, renamed from Find My Factory on 1 September 2026, and is not owned by or bundled into any procurement suite or ERP vendor. Workday Ventures did back TealBook: the funding announcements name it in the December 2019 seed-plus round, the Series A announced 26 January 2021 and the Series B announced 14 December 2021. We found no TealBook listing among the 902 apps in the Workday Marketplace public sitemap as of 3 September 2026, and no certified Workday integration. Supplier.io announced on 2 April 2026 that it had acquired TealBook.
