What does Coupa do for supplier discovery today?
Coupa runs total spend management: sourcing, contracts, procurement, invoicing and payments, plus Supplier Information Management and the Coupa Supplier Portal for supplier data and onboarding. On 6 October 2025 Coupa announced an agreement to acquire Scoutbee and said Scoutbee’s AI search, dataset and collaboration tools would be folded into Coupa Sourcing, Contracts, source-to-pay and the Coupa Supplier Portal as native functions “launching in early 2026”. Coupa’s AI-agent release of 18 November 2025 announced a Navi Supplier Discovery Agent that it says takes natural-language queries and helps sourcing managers identify best-fit suppliers. Coupa Compose, its agent builder, was announced at Coupa Inspire in May 2026. Coupa’s newsroom states that Coupa holds a Customers’ Choice distinction in the 2026 Gartner Peer Insights Voice of the Customer for Source-to-Pay Suites, at 99% willingness to recommend.

Where does Coupa supplier intelligence stop?
Two things are worth separating. Coupa’s own customers rate it well, on the Gartner Peer Insights distinction above. Its supplier intelligence, though, is being brought inside the suite. SAP announced Scoutbee Discovery as an SAP Endorsed App inside SAP Ariba Sourcing on 21 February 2024, and Coupa announced an agreement to acquire Scoutbee on 6 October 2025. In our assessment, when a suite vendor owns the discovery layer, a buyer’s influence over that layer’s roadmap runs through the suite. Coupa Ventures also took part in the Interos Series C announced on 6 December 2021, and Interos is one of the risk vendors listed on the Coupa App Marketplace. Several enrichment feeds come from third parties: the App Marketplace lists Moody’s Connector for Coupa and RapidRatings Financial Health Reporting, and Dun & Bradstreet data appears as a third-party feed. Coupa describes Coupa Advantage as a pre-negotiated supplier program; on the criteria above we read it as a curated program rather than a search tool for suppliers you have never met.

How does Speya connect to Coupa?
Through the Speya API, which is live today. Access is reviewed per integration, and you request it at speya.ai/mcp. The API returns structured supplier records a system can write into its own tables. The three calls customers make most often: enrich a supplier you already hold, find the named contact, and pull ESG evidence with sources. Integrations with Coupa are built on request, through that open API, where they make technical and commercial sense. Coupa’s developer documentation describes the receiving surfaces: the Core API Suppliers resource creates and updates Supplier and Supplier Site records, and Coupa Core flat files are the documented bulk path. A workflow a custom integration can support: run the case in Speya, approve a tiered shortlist, write the approved suppliers into Coupa, then invite them to a sourcing event. An MCP server is coming so your own agent can call Speya directly. Shortlists also export as spreadsheets. Speya offers no certified or vendor-listed connector and has no Coupa App Marketplace listing.

Does Speya replace Coupa?
No. Coupa stays the system of record for sourcing, contracts, purchase orders and invoices. Speya is the supplier intelligence layer in front of it: discover, vet, analyze, enrich and monitor. Speya does not run sourcing events, contracts, POs or invoices. Teams use Speya to decide who belongs in a Coupa event, then let Coupa run the process.
How does supplier data get from Speya into Coupa?
Through the Speya API or a structured export, in an integration built on request where it makes technical and commercial sense. The API returns supplier records with fields a system can map, so an approved shortlist can be written into your supplier master or a sourcing event. Coupa’s developer documentation names the Core API Suppliers resource and Core flat-file loaders as surfaces that accept supplier records. Speya offers no certified or vendor-listed connector and has no Coupa App Marketplace listing.
Is Speya independent from Coupa and other suites?
Yes. Speya is built and operated by Findmyfactory AB in Stockholm, and it is not owned by or bundled into any procurement suite or ERP vendor. Suppliers do not pay to be listed or ranked. Speya is EU-hosted and GDPR-compliant, with ISO 27001 and SOC 2 Type II, and data never leaves the EU. Pricing is on request.
What does the Scoutbee acquisition mean if we run Coupa?
Coupa announced its agreement to acquire Scoutbee on 6 October 2025 and says it is folding Scoutbee’s search and data into Sourcing, Contracts, source-to-pay and the Supplier Portal. Inside Coupa that is convenient. In our assessment it also means the discovery layer and the suite share an owner, so influence over that roadmap runs through Coupa. An independent layer beside it keeps the choice reversible.
