Tocco (tocco.ai) leads with “Industrial Intelligence, Automated” and describes itself as “The AI Teammate for teams shaping the physical world”. Its own site says Tocco helps sourcing, research and development, packaging and strategy teams discover suppliers, materials and products, track regulatory and market shifts, and generate source-linked outputs they can act on. Its Scout product is presented as live: set a topic once, and get briefings that are real time, evidence-backed and exportable.
The site publishes counters for 1,200+ Radar briefings generated and a 94% evidence verification rate, and says the team previously built tocco.earth, described there as a data-driven regulatory intelligence platform serving 14,000+ professionals. Its backing section labels Bpifrance an investor alongside accelerator, network and research affiliations. We found no procurement suite or ERP vendor among them, and no founding year, founder names or funding total on the site, as of 3 September 2026.
The gap
Where it stops, in Speya’s assessment.
In Speya’s assessment the two tools differ in what they hand back. The Tocco site describes briefings and source-linked outputs a team can forward, set from a topic that team chooses to watch, and it presents supplier scouting as part of that.
Speya takes a sourcing need written in plain language, searches millions of supplier profiles from 250+ data sources, has AI agents vet each candidate against certifications, financial health, ESG and sanctions with the source shown beside every finding, and returns a tiered shortlist with an audit trail. Speya Auto can run the case to the end.
As of 3 September 2026 we found no first-party figure for Tocco’s supplier coverage, and no description of a plain-language sourcing brief that returns a ranked, defensible shortlist. In Speya’s assessment that is a difference of scope rather than of quality: a team that wants a standing watch on a region or a regulation is buying something else.
