The platform, in brief.
Alpas AI is a Berlin sourcing platform. Its company page and the Y Combinator listing both give a 2020 founding and name Isabel Poppek as founder and chief executive; Y Combinator places it in the Winter 2021 batch and describes the company as data-driven sourcing for mid and large-cap manufacturing companies.
The Alpas company page says its “AI-driven procurement software enables procurement departments to find new suppliers 10x faster”. Its homepage names mechanical parts, electrical parts, chemical parts and engineering services as the categories it covers. Its product page describes automating the tendering process across RFB, RFI, RFP, RFQ and RFT, and offers what it calls “a touchless tendering experience”.
We found no procurement suite or ERP vendor among its named investors or partners as of 3 September 2026. We found no funding total on the Alpas site, and no primary source for one, as of 3 September 2026, so we state no figure here.
The gap
Where it stops, in Speya’s assessment.
In Speya’s assessment the two tools divide at the vetting step. The published Alpas material centres on finding suppliers for named part categories and running the tender that follows, which is a real and well-defined job.
Speya reads a sourcing brief in plain language, searches millions of supplier profiles from 250+ data sources, and has AI agents check certifications, financial health, ESG and sanctions with the evidence cited beside every name, before a shortlist exists. Speya Auto can run the whole case on its own.
As of 3 September 2026 we found no description on the Alpas site of agent-run supplier vetting against sanctions and financial health, and none of an autonomous sourcing case. In Speya’s assessment that is a difference of scope rather than of quality. Speya is not a source-to-pay suite either: it does not run purchase orders or invoices.
